Which future for technologies between transhumanism and the ecologisation of society ? (talk delivered in French)
Plenty of uncertainties plague talk of the future of technology, as well as of society in general. I will attempt to sketch two possible conflicting futures. The first one is that of transhumanism ; a neoliberal ideologie, which preaches rendering both the body and nature as artificial as possible, on the condition of an indefinite extension of the market. The second one pertains to the ecologisation of society, and it is prone to breaking with the ideology of progress and of the conception of a linear and rising growth of technology, in favour of an approach that will unite high, medium and low tech, which will be perceived as integral to specific lifestyles.
